ACY opens its new terminal
Today an opening ceremony was held at the new airport terminal with food and beverages from various restaurants in the Atlantic City area. Mayor Don Guardian cut the ribbon along with Stephen Dilts of the South Jersey Transportation Authority and Patrick J. Foye of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The celebrating later continued with the arrival of the first flight, Spirit Airlines flight 138 for Orlando. Starting today, April 1st all airlines will begin moving to the new terminal. Spirit Airlines, JetBlue Airways, and Southwest Airlines begin today. While American Airlines will begin service tomorrow. The large open windows that let in more light and make the terminal seem more roomier. New larger baggage claims, curbside check-in, and more TSA inspection line will allow more passengers and allows passengers will get through the process faster. The SJTA and Port Authority of NY, NJ have plans for expansions that are unannounced at the moment but this airport will boost Atlantic City tourism and provide more flights to Atlantic City.
